Hello HHBS family,

A big thank you to everyone who has donated to our cause and helped us carry out our mission since 2009.  Thanks to your support, we were able to do the following:

  • Collect, triage and ship over 50 barrels of food, toiletries, and clothes to those in need in Croix-Des-Bouquets and surrounding areas.

  • Distribute over 600+ food kits to those affected by the Earthquake in the Southern region of Haiti. You can read more about our Earthquake Relief efforts here.

  • Distribute over 200+ food kits and clothes to the teachers and students of the school HHBS is sponsoring – École Scolaire de la Primitive (ESP) in Croix-Des-Bouquets.

  • Subsidize teachers' monthly salary

  • Purchase school supplies for the students

Thank you to Ms. Sonia Nelson and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) for their fundraising events and contributions to collecting and shipping barrels of clothes, food and toiletries and a huge heartfelt thank you to all HHBS friends for their continued efforts to HHBS.

A special Thank You to our HHBS friend DJ. Hard Hittin' Harry for organizing a fundraiser event with all of his DJs friends around the world. And to the Jamaican Civic & Cultural Association of Rockland (JAMCCAR) for their donation.

HHBS has followed the hand-to-hand distribution method since 2009 and is determined to continue its mission for the many years to come. This is what we do! This is what we know!

On behalf of the students, teachers, and people of Haiti, thank you for your continued support.

Wishing you a very blessed holiday season!

Earthquake Relief Updates ☀ Sept. 29th

Hello HHBS family,

Thank you for your ongoing support and donations! Our updated donation total as of September 29th, 2021 is $10,260. Thank you! We have some relief efforts and mission trip updates for you:

On August 23rd, 2021 Evens Paul (HHBS Haiti Coordinator) and the rest of team on the ground in Haiti traveled to Nippes – located in the southern region of Haiti. There, they purchased supplies from a local vendor, prepared and then distributed 200 food kits to the people of that region.

We originally scheduled our next mission trip to be for September 9th, 2021, however due to the country's political instability, the mission trip was rescheduled for the beginning of October 2021 – exact date to be determined. On that date, we plan on distributing a total of 400 food kits. Bringing our total to 600 food kits, more than halfway to our goal of 1000. Please donate and help us reach our target!

Thank you,

Fran

Earthquake Relief Updates - Aug. 18th

First and foremost, thank you for your generous contributions in the last 5 days! Your donations are going directly into the hands of those most impacted by this devastating earthquake. We plan on giving you frequent updates, as they come in, with respect to where your money is going and how we’re distributing it to our community.

As of Aug. 18th, 2021 we have two primary areas of focus:

IMMEDIATE NEED – food & water

  • Our team on the ground will be traveling to the southern region of Haiti this week to purchase food and water.

  • There, they will then distribute the food & water to the people of that region.

  • Thanks to your generous contributions of $3000 USD, Evens and our team have coordinated efforts to purchase water and food kits.

  • Each food kit lasts one week for a family of four. Kit contains: spaghetti, rice, beans, cans of sardines/salmon, sugar, oil, flour, and evaporated milk. Cost per kit: $15

  • Our goal is to reach 1000 families.

SECONDARY NEED – medical assistance

  • Still assessing the need and our options at this point in time.

  • We are currently in contact with a local Haitian organization to help us with the medical staff needed (doctors, nurses, etc) and necessary resources (medications, supplies, etc) to assist the people in need of that community.

  • We will partner and join forces with an organization already on the ground to provide as much medical aid as possible.

  • More details to come…

Right now our biggest focus is the food & water urgency, as well as executing our plan to distribute these food kits. We will report back very soon regarding our medical partnership.

We still need your help to reach our goal of 1000 food kits - so please share this with friends, family and anyone who can contribute.

Thank you,
Fran

7.2 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Haiti - HHBS Impacted!

Dear HHBS family,

As you may have heard, there was a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti this morning. Information is still coming in and what I’m hearing is devastating. Members of my team on the ground are now homeless, a hospital has fallen with patients and staff inside, and I still haven’t heard about the status of our school.

I write to you at this time of crisis and ask for your support. All dollars will go where most needed whether that be shelter, clothing, basic necessities or medicine.

I will continue to keep our supporters updated as I learn more and will share details about where your donations are spent. We will continue to honor our hand-to-hand distribution to ensure 100% of every dollar makes it to those in need. This is especially important now as new organizations are bound to appear with unknown origins and distribution methods.

With love,
Fran

Your donation will go directly toward Earthquake Relief & Aid for the HHBS Community. HHBS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which makes all donations to us tax deductible. No donation is too small.
